Tuesday (SEPT. 22nd)
Matthew 24:12, 1John 2:15-17 “love of many shall wax cold. *Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”

When the devil cannot use trials and tribulations against you, He will use temptations and lusts of the flesh to detract from your passion and love for God. He will seek to replace that love and passion you have for God with a love and passion for things of this world that are not pleasing to God. Know that no matter what the devil promises you, the last thing he has in mind is your best interest. The devil is out to destroy your soul while God wants to save it. In the same way the devil promised Jesus the kingdoms of this world and their glory if Jesus would fall down and worship him (the devil), he will also approach us with similar deceptive desires to entice our flesh. Jesus rightly cast the devil away and declared that God alone is to be worshipped, Matt.4:8-10. Do not worship the things of this world (the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes and the pride of life). Be wise, cast the thought away and continue to worship God alone. Do you know that being carnally minded separates us from the life of God, Rom.8:6-8? No matter how pleasurable and promising the lusts of the flesh may appear, they can never be compared to the privilege of being connected to God and experiencing the life and grace that He has in store for us. The lusts of the flesh are out to darken your understanding, make us alien to the life of God and blind the eyes of our hearts, Eph.4:17-18. Despite the increase of iniquity around us, as we remain watchful and continue to increase in our love for God, we will overcome.

Prayer Focus: Receive God’s grace today to remain firm in His love and to keep resisting and overcoming the lusts of this world.

Grace for Dominion…
